Before & After

Here is the long-requested blog on our newly refinished office! It's kind of hard to tell, but all the white marks in the blue are either scratches or holes. The large brown squares were holes that Mike had to patch with drywall because the mud wouldn't cover it all.
We certainly had our work cut out for us with this office. The horrible dark blue paint was a mess; running down the walls and slopped onto the ceiling. Then top it off with sports wallpaper and multiple holes!
This door suffered the worst of the blue paint assault. You could definitely tell that the project was only half-finished when we moved in.

Halfway to completion. Mike puts some primer on the walls. Note: this is the same wall that the blue paint and sports wallpaper was on.
Ta da!!! Doesn't this picture look like it came out of an issue of Country Living or Better Homes and Gardens?! We are amazing!
The office has been patched, mudded, sanded, primed, painted and touched up. Mike even replaced the old windowsill and installed a new one. Special thanks go to Phil/Dianne for the new door and door frame (Luke, Gary and Phil for installing it), and also to my dad for purchasing the mud and paint to help us along!
This last picture is the same blue door that you saw above. What a difference a little mud and paint can do to a room! It is now an office/guest room. Please feel free to stop by anytime and admire our handiwork!
