How does your garden grow?

Spring has sprung!
The days are getting longer and warmer.
The birds are chirping and playing in the rain puddles.
New blossoms are opening in my garden everyday.
Everything is alive and awake again.
The excitement of approaching summer is almost tangible.
I planted tulip bulbs last spring, and was delighted to find them finally poking their heads out of the ground this year.
It's almost like magic, watching something dormant suddenly spring to life.
Wild
strawberries are growing in the grass in my backyard, and it looks like they might bear fruit this year.
Mike is excited for the homemade raspberry jam I'm going to make.
I'm sure this is what Mary Lennox must have felt like the first time she opened the door to the secret garden.
The anticipation of turning something ordinary and plain into a beautiful creation that is all your own.
I am so excited to plant new flowers, pull some weeds and get my hands dirty.
Peter loves coming outside with me in the morning and looking at the sunshine and the trees.
I can't wait to see him running through the grass and helping me collect snails out of the Virginia Creeper.
The flower I'm anticipating the most is the new Iris I planted last spring.
They are my absolute favorite.
What's yours?

Your flowers look so beautiful! I was so excited to see my daffodils and tulips that I planted in the fall finally coming up.

My favorite flowers are daffodils and irises, especially when they're planted together. I think purple and yellow is such a cheery combination.

It sounds like your garden is both prolific and diverse. I'm planning on planting a few vegetables and herbs this year, but I decided not to be overly ambitious. :D

Trust me Marie, my garden is FAR from where I want it to be. The dandelions have run amuck, we need to buy a lawnmower, and there are rocks at every turn! I'm sure there will be several trips to the Home Depot and Walmart's garden center before the summer is out!

Thanks for the compliments girls!

It feels like such an accomplishment after a day of weeding to look out and admire your flowers. My favorites are as you know, tulips and gerber daisies. I have not planted anything yet but am getting excited to go to the nursery to get started!! Gardening here I come! It will be so nice because Carter can play in the backyard while I work outside. I can't wait!
