spoiler alert!

This morning I sat straight up in bed with the answer to a riddle that has been plaguing me for months now! It has been the hot topic of conversation with all of my fellow Harry Potter fans. Please do not read the comments on this post if you have not yet read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. That includes you Heather! For everyone else, please leave comments and rebuttal, as I am anxious to hear if you agree with my conspiracy theory or not. Sincerely, Meg.

Apparently I'm not alone in this conspiracy...I found several websites which came to the same conclusion that I did. Let me explain:

You see, originally I thought that like Obi Wan Kenobi, Dumbledore wasn't dead. Now however, I believe that he is in fact dead due to the new conspiracy theory I came up with.

Dumbledore HIMSELF was somehow a horcrux.

Knowing that Dumbledore would never consciously destroy himself, and never having taken the opportunity himself, Voldemort would count on this fact. Dumbledore was one of the oldest and wisest wizards!

I believe that Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him that night in the hallway. In the book he says, "Snape...please." They were both accomplished Legilimens, therefore it is possible an entire conversation passed between them that Harry was not aware of.

I still haven't worked out how Tom Riddle could have implanted a horcrux in Dumbledore without him knowing it? It's still fun to try and guess though.

Ok...now for the backlash. Yes? No? Agree? Disagree? Theories of your own? Let's hear them!

Wow!
Remember the conversation at chilis we had about this that day? This theory makes a lot more sense to me! I think you might be right on... you are such a smartie!

That totally makes sense to me!! I thought that maybe Dumbledore himself was an animagus. Remember at the end how the Harry thinks he sees a phoenix rise? Anyway, I don't know how that would happen though if he was killed. But I also don't know how Tom could have implanted a horcrux in Dumbledore as well. You know how some wizards can use a spell without saying the word out loud, just by mouthing the word? Well, maybe Snape said Avada Kedavra but in his mind used another spell?? Being a Legilimens and all...who knows, just a thought. But i DEFINITELY like your conspiracy..it does make sense. Harry and none of the other Death Eaters would have known about any conversation passing between them. If he was a horcrux maybe Snape has always known, because in the beginning he makes the Unbreakable Vow, so he would have to kill Dumbledore if Draco didn't, but if he knew that Dumbledore was a horcrux and knew that at one time or another he would need to be killed, so then he wouldn't hesitate to make the vow, right? Girl you have got my mind running like crazy now. This was never something I had even thought about. I have a question though, IF Dumbledore is a horcrux, then why would Voldemort have Draco kill him? So, I have been skimming thru the last few chapters (I haven't read it in a while, I need to read it again before the 7th book comes out) anyway, there are as many as 4 horcruxes left, the cup, the locket, the snake, and something of Gryffindor's or Ravenclaw's, Harry obviously wouldn't know that Dumbledore is a horcrux (if he is), so where does that put him..something of Gryffindor's?? That doesn't make sense. Anyway, any thoughts on who R.A.B. is?? I seriously CAN NOT wait until the 7th book comes out!!! I will however be bummed that there will be no more! =(

It is an interesting theory. I could see that a conversation may have taken place between snape and Dumbledore as I still hold in my heart that Snape is good. However, a Horcrux? I think some of his posessions may be a Horcrux but Dumbledore himself, we will have to wait and see.

You're way past me. I'm too shallow minded to see that deeply into the story, but it sounds plausible anyway! HP is such "brain candy", easy to read and enjoy. I too will be sad when it's over.

I still would like to see Harry end up with Hermione instead of Ginny, but that's just me. I LOVE Hermione!
