I had my first Lehi experience the other day...Alli and I went to the local market to pick up some last minute dinner items, and while we were waiting in line, I noticed that our checker's name was "Ren." Something immediately clicked in my brain as familiar. Where had I heard that name before? Ren... Ren... Ren McCormack! Footloose?! "Let's dance!" I giggled to myself, but thought, "No, it's just a coincidence." However the more I thought of it, the more I wanted to know if this kids' parents really were Kevin Bacon fans. I got up some nerve, and said politely: "Ren? Were you named after the movie Footloose?" He looked me right in the eye, and with all seriousness he said, "Yes." I had to wait until we were safely out in the parking lot before I could burst into laughter.
"I'll tell you what I'd like to do - I'd like to fold a Playboy centerfold into every one of Reverend Shaw's hymnbooks!"
