"What I Did Over The Thanksgiving Holiday" by Megan Holdaway, or "How I Stuffed And Shopped Myself Silly."

It occurred to me amidst my previous rants (have you all recovered?) that I hadn't mentioned a single thing about my lovely Thanksgiving weekend?!

1. The in-laws were in town, and as always, they supplied us with a big brick of good old Wisconsin cheddar.

2. Because the in-laws were in town I saved a bundle on my day-care, because frankly grandparents are the best (and cheapest) babysitters of all. If you doubt it, please observe the picture to your left. Isn't snuggling in your PJ's is the greatest treat around?

3. While I love turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes, stuffing, and orange rolls, the highlight of the dinner was definitely my homemade stuffed mushrooms (sorry girls I'm not divulging this recipe...you'll just have to come over sometime and partake). My second favorite, is Sheron's famous homemade dutch apple pie. It has to be dutch, or else it's just not as good. She makes this tasty confection especially for moi!

4. Mike's sisters make the best shopping companions ever. After cruising the newspaper and internet ads, we shopped until we dropped Friday and Saturday. I've never done Black Friday before, but let me tell you it's definitely a group effort, and I got some screaming deals: $14.98 for Season 2 of The Office! I'm sooooo doing that again next year.

5. The holiday season is officially upon us. I'm thankful for Christmas music, trees, and decorations. I'm thankful for my family and extended family. I love you all! Especially my parents, sisters, friends, and neighbors. I'm grateful for a warm house, food on the table, and clothes on my back. I'm thankful for a supportive husband. I'm thankful for a healthy and sweet little boy. It seems that all is right with the world, and nothing can bring me down (except perhaps a nasty case of the stomach flu).

Happy Thanksgiving! Love, The Holdaway Family.

Aren't grandparents the greatest? I am also a fan of Black Friday! As we have discussed, the lines are forever long but really aren't they always that long until Christmas anyway? A team effort always is best since someone can wait at one store while the rest of you go somewhere else. Love it!! Thanksgiving rules.

My awesome husband went out at 4 am on Black Friday and came home with a rockin' deal of a new computer! (We really needed a new one since our old one was a dinosaur!) Merry Christmas to us!
