Some random thoughts about Easter 2008.
1. The Redeemer. My aunt got Mike and I tickets to the tabernacle Saturday night to see the choir perform Robert Cundick's The Redeemer. The music and setting were incredible; and the evening was even more special because Thomas S. Monson was in attendance (as was Russel M. Nelson, L. Tom Perry and Sheri Dew). It was a great way to kick-off our worship service. I love this gospel!
2. Egg hunts. Candy. Running. Eggs. Chocolate. Jelly beans. More candy. Kids. What more can you ask for?
3. Relaxing Easter. Sunday was one of the nicest days we have had in a while. Mike and I made the ultimate comfort dinner: pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, rolls, steamed asparagus and chocolate cream pie. I'm hungry just thinking about it. Church was nice. I got a visit in the morning from Heidi and baby Emily (I think Peter's in love). Jared came down for dinner, and afterwards we sent the baby to bed so we could put-together some puzzles and play Settlers of Catan; all while watching The Ten Commandments commercial-free (God bless the inventor of the DVR). Honestly, does it get any better than that?
I hope you all had an equally enjoyable holiday. Love, the Holdaway family.
