Happy Birthday Kiersten!

In honor of Kiersten's 19th birthday, here are 19 reasons why I love her so much:

19. She is a fashion risk-taker. If it's unusual, eccentric and slightly quirky, Kiersten is not afraid to wear it. She always looks darling, and at the height of fashion.
18. She is an avid reader. I love recommending books, or hearing her opinion on literature, even if we sometimes disagree. Most of the time however, we have very similar taste.
17. Kiersten is a great babysitter. She is always up for coming over and watching PK whenever I need her to. I appreciate you helping me out babe!
16. She is very beautiful. I still think she would be a perfect candidate for the television show America's Next Top Model.
15. Kiersten is a sensitive soul. She is always so compassionate and understanding; a true friend and a kindred spirit.
14. She is an amazing cellist. I loved going to all her Utah Youth Symphony and high school orchestra concerts. I can honestly sit and listen to her play her cello for hours.
13. Kiersten turns everything into poetry. I am constantly in awe of her writing abilities; I think she ought to publish a book of her poetry and drawings.
12. When Kiersten was little she used to emulate everything I would do. It was very flattering, and I still love it when she copies her big sisters.
11. Not only is Kiersten an amazing musician, but she also has a love of culturally diverse music. Her tastes range from Beatles to Incubus, and lots of bands in-between (most of them you've probably never heard of).
10. I love her short story, The Bathroom Astronomer. Ask her to read it to you sometime.
9. Kiersten and I share a love of Wes Anderson movies (I'd like to think I introduced her to them). His style and vision as a director definitely reflect Kiersten's outlook on life. We both agree The Royal Tenenbaums is his best work.
8. Kiersten is always up for a little shopping. Whether it's Gardner Village, antique stores, or second-hand clothes, I can always count on her to come along.
7. She is fearless. By fearless, I mean that she can scale a rock with her bare hands, or share her deepest thoughts on life. She is true to herself and honest with the world.
6. One of my favorite stories about Kiersten is the time my mom forced her to drink a margarita at our favorite restaurant, Nati's. It's pretty funny.
5. She is my best friend. I have a lot of memories with Kiersten: going to Disneyland, playing in the hay barn, dressing up, holidays, going to see movies, girl talk in the bedroom, and getting into trouble.
4. I love that she is willing to try new things. One of Kiersten's favorite foods is sushi! She goes every Tuesday with her friends to partake in uncooked fish and loves to find new restaurants.
3. Kiersten and I can talk for hours and hours about nothing and everything. She is a great listener and a wonderful sympathizer.
2. Whenever I think of Kiersten, lots of her obsessions come to mind: Egypt, Harry Potter books, couscous, Aladdin, shopping, Henry David Thoreau, costume jewelry, debating, funky music, hot milk with creamer and henna tattoos.
1. I have said many times, that Kiersten is an old soul in a young body. I am constantly amazed at her depth, beauty, intelligence and compassion. She is a wonderful human being.

Happy birthday babe!
