Your happy place.
It's a state of mind. A mental daydream to somewhere other than here. Or in Peter's case, it's an actual location (the second shelf of your changing table - great for hiding and stashing stuff).
Some of my happy places reside in the best books. A trip to Hogwarts or an afternoon spent with the March sisters. Daydreaming of remodeling my house or my faraway-dream-home-yet-to-be-purchased. European vacation lists.
Sometimes my happy place is lying on the warm sands of La Jolla Shores listening to the waves and seagulls while smelling the ocean's spray. Spending time with my husband. Actual vacation trips are up there too (ie: England, Chicago and Disneyland to name a few). Other happy places can be found in my favorite movies, a day out in the garden working in the dirt, or spending time with my close friends and family. *sigh*

Definitely the beach. I'm right there with you, girl. It must have something to do with the longing to go back to your childhood and (what we remember) were happy times. Seeing pictures of my children when they were little does the same thing. I love them to pieces as adults, but oh, the nostalgia of the sweet face I kissed and the little arms that hugged my neck or the tiny finger curled around mine.
Loved this post!
Peter is so darn cute!!

Can you tell I need a Happy place right now? BAD???
that little "Packer" is sooo cute
I often mutter to myself "Find your happy place, find your happy place."
Brian and I had a deep conversation of getaways and vacations and he made a very good point. He said that he didn't want his life to long for 1 week a year, he wanted all 52 weeks to bring him happiness, rest and fulfillment. I have been thinking about that a lot, now that my time is very limited on the getaways. So here are my happy places:
My home, curled up in my bed with a book or my laptop.
The temple
Down at our family cabin.
St. George
Anywhere that Shae is holding my hand.
My car, rockin out to my favorite song.
At dinner with girlfriends ;)
In my garden in the back yard or sitting on my back porch on a warm night.
Have an awesome day you CRAZY lady! -Suzanne
well...ONE of them is when I'm with you....
Most of my happy places include people. Being back in London hanging out the window and talking with my cousin Jake, waiting for a geyser to erupt in Yellowstone with Warren at 2 in the morning and tanning in my back yard with my cousin Amy and listening to Rooney. It's funny how people can effect my moods so much:)
My happy place...oh.....hmmm. A beach, any beach, preferrably one that is not too crowded. I love to hear the waves crashing and to be able to see nothing but blue when I look at the horizon.
Spending time with family and close friends. That is my happy place.
I think you covered all of mine in yours! Those are some great happy places! i'd have to add tho that I enjoy any place where I can feel the sun on my face. i think i must be half plant (although my gardening skills would beg to differ).
