Top 10 reasons I should be adopted by the English family OR Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is two British people.

This year for Christmas I decided to ask Santa for some extra parents. I don't need any new ones, I just want some extra ones. I thought about who would qualify for this important job and the first people that came to mind were Richard and Ann English. (For those of you who don't know the English's, I stayed with Richard and Ann two years ago when I traveled to England). It's no secret that I love all things British! So here is my "Top 10 Reasons Why the English Family Should Adopt Me" (or at the very least make me an "Honorary British Citizen")...
10. Princess Diana rocks my socks. No one could love her more than I do. Also, Prince William invited me.

9. I heart fish and chips. And malt vinegar. Lots and lots of malt vinegar.

8. I am well-versed in all the British classics: Shakespeare, Hardy, Austen, Dickens, and Rowling.

7. Colour and honour are some of my favourite words.

6. I've seen the 6 part BBC Pride & Prejudice at least 100 times.
Colin Firth in a wet shirt. Enough said.

5. I would like to hear Ian say "Ring Road" just one more time.

4. I'm OK with socialized dental care.

3. Ann can buy me all the autographed Diana books and BBC movies she wants and I promise not to complain.

2. I want to teach my son to "Bend it Like Beckham."

And the #1 reason I should be adopted by the English's:

I can speak in a British accent!

Thank you for your consideration.

Respectfully,

Megan H.

Ahh...Megan. Let's go to England!!! I, too, am an Anglophile and cannot find a cure...not that I've looked, because, trust me, I haven't. But it makes it hard when one lives so very far from the Promised Land. :) (That's the Promised Land they were talking about in the scriptures, right? I'm pretty sure. Someday, I'll have my flat in London and you're totally invited. Or maybe we could just be neighbors? :)

Megan!!
You make me laugh so hard!! Although, the Collin Firth in a wet shirt made me bust out lauging. Have you seen that British show of Return to Austenland? Long story short it is a modern day girl that gets sent to Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice story. She makes Mr. Darcy walk into a lake and come out because of the whole Collin Firth moment. Laughed my rear off! Anywho, if you want to talk in a british accent, go for it. You can do it anytime you are with me! Love ya! -Suzanne

So glad you decided to post this!! haha I honestly laughed so hard through the whole thing. You are pretty much a surrogate daughter in law anyway, since my mother in law buys me things thinking if you would like it or not! :)
