our year in review (2009)

Mike and I have a lot to be thankful for as we begin 2010. We have had many trials in 2009, but also many blessings, and I am so grateful to all of our friends and family who have been with us through thick and thin. Here are a few things that made 2009 so wonderful for our family...January: Megan started her book club "Sweet Treats" with a few girlfriends. It has been a lot of fun getting together and having girl time. Oh, and occasionally some reading does take place.

February: We bought our first pet, a cat named Zoƫ. She has brought a lot of happiness to our home, especially to Peter who is learning to take care of her and not pull her tail too much. We also made a small family trip down to Arizona to see our niece Raegen get baptized, as well as tour Aunt Jen's new house. (This was a bittersweet trip because [as most of you know] Megan threw out her back).

March: We were able to catch a few home Jazz games, which are always a lot of fun for us. Mike went to Chicago on a business trip, and attended his very first Bulls/Celtics basketball game.

May: Megan went to Disneyland for a weekend with her mom and sisters. They had a great time doing all kinds of new things: California Adventure, The Blue Bayou and pin trading (to name a few).

June: Mike and Megan celebrated their 6 year wedding anniversary. Peter spent the night at his Aunt Alli's house, and Mike and Megan spent two days in Salt Lake City shopping, dining, touring, and having an all-around great time.

July: Mike's sister Teresa got a new pool this year, and we spent a lot of free afternoons at their house teaching Peter to swim. Mike's sister Jen also came up this month, and Peter got to spend a lot of time with his cousins Taryn and Maddy.

August: Mike and Megan both took a week off work to do a "Staycation." We did a lot of fun things around Utah that we had never done before; however, our absolute favorite was the Children's Museum in Ogden. Later that month, Mike flew out to Wisconsin to help his parents pack up their home (where they have lived for the past 30 years) and move out to Utah. We are so happy to have them living close by, and Peter loves going to grandma's house on days when Megan has to work.

September: Megan's mom flew her out to the bay area for her birthday. It is the first time Megan has been back to San Francisco in almost 10 years. She got to see her mom's chic new apartment, and spend a little time with family that lives in Danville. It was also her first time going to Monterey and seeing the famous aquarium there.

October: Megan's third year helping to host the annual Halloween Extravaganza at the Legacy Center (pictured above). Mike traveled to New Mexico to take a very important certification for work. (Only he and three others passed the exam out of approximately twenty).

November: The ward we have lived in for the past 4 years was split, and we found ourselves in the Chappel Valley Ward. Mike really misses his calling as Ward Mission Leader, but Megan is happy to be out of nursery and spending time in Relief Society.

December: Along with all of the parties, concerts, and holiday fun, Megan's mom came out to visit for Christmas, and spend some time with PK. Our family got a Wii from Santa, and are having a lot of fun bowling and playing Super Mario Brothers.

We look forward to many new and exciting adventures in 2010, and hope this post finds you all healthy and happy and ready for great things!

I did a year in review scrapbook for my mom in law this year as her Christmas present. You don't really think you do alot. But this last year, after looking at all the pictures. I soon realized we covered a lot of ground!
