favorite Christmas song?

Hello friends! A few weeks ago I posted a blog asking if you should listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, and I got some great responses! (Including a couple of first-time responders: Sheron and Quinn-yeah!) Now that it is officially "safe" at my house to listen to Christmas music, I have the radio on constantly! In fact, it has turned into my companion for late-night feedings in the nursery. So now I pose the question to all of you; which song or singer is your favorite? If you have a couple of artists that you like, then post them both! Do you have a favorite Christmas CD?

I personally tend to like all of the Old English carols (ie: "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella" and "O Come O Come Emmanuel" to name a few). Of course nothing beats classics like Nat King Coles', "The Christmas Song" or Bing Crosby's "White Christmas." Mike likes "O Holy Night," and any song on the Harry Connick Jr. album. Maybe it's the new mother in me, but every time I hear "Mary Did You Know?" this year I get a little teary-eyed. I also love a CD that my mom has had for years called "Blossoms in the Snow," which is filled with great instrumental renditions. Of course it isn't Christmas until we have listened to a little holiday Mo-tab as well. But enough about me, let's hear what you like! I am interested to read your comments.

I had to respond to this blog-it's the music lover in me! My all time favorite Christmas song is Silent Night. Jewel does a pretty good rendition of it, and I also love O Come all ye faithful. My favorite Christmas CD (I hate to say it Quinn) is the Amy Grant CD. I can listen to all of the songs on it and like them all which is a hard find especially with Christmas songs! I also like Kenny G one of his first albums I cant remember the name of it. It has all the classics. James loves all the pop songs for christmas like Band Aid-Do they know its Christmas and Paul McCartney simply having a wonderful christmas time. I love it all!!! I am going to turn some on now and look outside my window with some hot cocoa and watch the snow! (For about 5 seconds until I have to play cars with Carter again!)

If you watch ELF the movie, I love the girl singing - Santa Clauss is coming to town - in that old 40's deep voice, also when she along with Will Ferrell sings - Baby it's cold outisde. And Hot, Hot Chocolate by Tom Hanks in Polar Express. Have yourself a merry little Christmas will always be a favorite, that was my first solo that I was asked to sing in grade school. I also love Mary did you know - sang that for the young women last year alcapelo...and I agree Meg - makes me cry with Ben - he was in my stomach at the time. And Christmas cd's that I could listen to over and over again...Celine Dion Christmas cd (got that last year from Dan!)and still need to get but LOVE - Harry Connick Jr Christmas cd. I also want the Rascal Flatts Christmas CD. Their harmony is soooo pretty.
