little stinker

My new job (the Legacy Center), throws a big Halloween party every year for the community, and every employee "gets" to work (as opposed to "has" to work) that night. Luckily for us it was on October 27th, rather than October 31st. We are also required to dress up, which is all part of the fun anyways, so I went as Red Riding Hood (nothing like recycling an old costume-- especially since it doesn't matter how fat I continue to get, it will still fit me). Yeah! But because I work for the Legacy Center, Mike and Peter got into the party for free, plus they had an "in" with the cute door lady (me) who knew where all the best stuff was located. I guess it pays to be friends with Megan Holdaway after all!

There was trick-or-treating, sloppy joe dinners, Corpse Bride (movie), games, a kid-friendly maze, spook alley, coloring contest, storytelling, photo station, prizes, and of course candy. We had been working on this Halloween party for months! So, Saturday morning (27th) was spent setting up the basketball court with game booths, posters, and balloons (yeah I left before they started putting those up). I had my reservations about the process as well as the party, but it seemed to go off without a hitch. I was told they had over 2,000 people attend, and there was plenty of prizes and candy left by the end of the evening. It was a lot of fun to see people in my ward, as well as patrons of the facility, and of course my little skunk in his cute costume (the back of it has a patch that says "little stinker"). Nate and Marie came with their kids, as did Heather and James (plus kiddies), and Dan and Leah with Ben. I came home that night and soaked my aching feet in the tub--I definitely earned my paycheck that day.

October 31st, we took Peter trick-or-treating to Great Grandma Nini's, Grandma Tenney's (& Great Grandma Ceccherini's), Kelly & Gary's, Teresa & Gary's, and the ward trunk-or-treat. Needless to say, it was a very busy night for PK, but he did OK even without his afternoon nap...

We had so much fun at the Legacy Center party! I have to admit it was alot better than I thought it would be. They went all out! And you know it wouldn't have been a true party without Carter kicking and screaming not to leave! Good times.
