11th Commandment: And God said, "Thou Shalt Eat Pizza"

Oh. Holy. Pizza.
First and foremost, I should mention that I, Megan Ellen Holdaway, am not what you might call a pizza "lover". In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not even a pizza "liker". *Gasp* I realize this goes against the grain of what some consider to be one of the great American food staples (even though I'm told pizza origins are Italian). However, last week in Chicago I sat down to one of the most fantastic meals I have ever eaten in my entire life! It was a chewy, cheesy, warm, gooey, spicy little slice of heaven on earth, and this girl enjoyed every calorie-filled morsel. Imagine if you will, two slices of the flakiest, sweetest crust on the planet. Sandwich in fresh mozarella, spicy pepperoni, and pile on some tangy-sweet tomato sauce. Words cannot describe this rendezvous of flavors and warmth, all baked to bubbling perfection for moi! How did a girl get so lucky? If you ever happen to be in the Chicago area, please make sure you stop in to Giordano's and try their world famous Chicago stuffed pizza. Your mouth will certainly say, "Thank You".
This girl has officially been converted to the gospel of pizza.

Meg! I'm so glad that you're enjoying your trip . . . although, as much as I love Chicago, I'm not sure I could bring myself to eat a slice of stuffed pizza (WAY too much cheese/grease/pepperoni per bite).

Hope the rest of the trip goes as well!

Dan's Mom is from Chicago and Dan lived there a little while - hence Dan being a huge Cubs fan. He always talks about this "the real pizza", but I never saw a picture of it. Thanks for the view! I LOVE PIZZA!

Oh you are so right....I have been there and ate at the Giordano's on Rush Street (Near Michigan Ave). It was the best pizza we have ever eaten. Can't even describe it as pizza - it's more like a casserole. They have opened several Giordano's in Florida, AND you can get the pizza sent to you via the mail on their web site.
