Gerber Daisy. Meg Ryan tells Tom Hanks in the movie You've Got Mail, "Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?" And I would have to agree. Daisies are big, bright and colorful - they can cheer up anyone's day. In short, Daisies are absolutely darling! Some friends who remind me of the Gerber Daisy: Heather E., Camille G., and Teresa W. (Similar flowers include Black-Eyed Susan's, Mums, and Sunflowers).
Night Blooming Jasmine. Most of you have never seen or smelled a Night Blooming Jasmine before. From all outward appearances they are just a simple shrub with small, white, star-shaped flowers. However, when they open at dusk, their scent is shockingly strong and sweet. This is my, "Don't judge a book by it's cover flower." Some friends who remind me of Night Blooming Jasmine: Kiersten T., and Jenn B. (Similar flowers include: Vinca, Honeysuckle, and Lilacs).
The Rose. It is the original. It is a classic. Roses are traditional. Roses exude antique nostalgia. There is a reason that the Rose is one of the most common scents in perfumes, candles, and ladies' toiletry - it looks and smells divine! Roses are simple elegance personified. Every shade and variety is absolutely beautiful. Some friends who remind me of Roses: Judy C., Ann H., Dianne H., and Diana S. (Similar flowers are Gardenias, Peonies, and Poppies).
Burgundy Iris. Iris are one of my all-time favorite flowers. They are a peculiar species, that only blooms for a few short weeks in the spring. They don't have much of a scent, but the shape and colors are absolutely magnificent. Iris are quirky and unique. I love bulbs - and this is definitely the best for gardens, walk-ways and flower beds. Some people who remind me of Burgundy Iris: Lynn F., Maggie C., and Ida B. (Similar flowers: Tulips and Orchids).
Hibiscus. This is the most exotic flower I can think of. It is big, bright, and colorful. This is my va-va-va-voom flower. This is the flower that says, "Here I am! You have no choice but to notice me!" No wonder so many Hawaiian women wear these as their only ornamentation. Some friends that remind me of a Hibiscus: Kelly T., Leah G., and Melanie W. (Similar flowers include Clematis and Trumpet Vine).
Geraniums. Geraniums are my thinker flowers. They perform exceptionally well in the heat, and if nourished properly can grow quite large. Their smell is unique (to say the least) and I love the big bunches of pretty red/pink flowers, and curly, round leaves. Nothing is cuter than a potted Geranium sitting on your front porch to say, "Hello friend!" Some girls that remind me of Geraniums: Marie B., Alli H., Amie P., and Sheron C. (Similar blooms include: Feverfew, Nasturtiums, and Columbine).
Peonies. Last but not least (the flower I associate with myself) is the Peony. A distant cousin of the Rose, Peonies are like a wilder variation - but bigger and louder. Peonies have long, spiky leaves, and can pack themselves into tight little balls before they burst out like a loud firework. Peonies are their own creation, and make some of the prettiest flower arrangements. Friends who remind me of a Peony: Heidi R., Jen A., Michelle G., and Natalie H. (Similar to a Peony are Carnations, Roses, and Pansies). *I apologize if there is anyone I missed on my list!*What is your favorite flower?

Monica, Suzanne, Tierra, Lindsay, Katie, Heather S., Adele, Ashley, etc. I didn't forget about you! I just didn't think I knew you well enough to place you as a flower. So, what would you choose for yourself?
I love, love it!!
What a darling post!! So creative!
I love every flower there....
~ And they made me happy seeing them this time of year. I'm glad you consider me a Rose, since it's my favorite flower.
I think I could guess Monica, Suzanne and Tierra, but I will let them pick thereselves. " Pick thereselves?" Ha-ha..flowers.. get it?? I know I am a nerd.
I loved the originality of this post, and I'm quite flattered to find myself on your list.
I'm still kind of smiling to myself about the wild and loud part, oh weren't we all kind of firecrackers, back in the day?
Keep on writing girl, because I love to see what you'll come up with next. You're always entertaining, thoughtful, original and refreshing.
That was a very cool post, I am glad I made it! I love all the flowers you posted and how beautiful they all are! I don't think I have a favorite, I love them all!
Miss Megan,
First of all, my parents neighbors have a backyard wall of jasmine and in the summertime, the scent is AMAZING! Probably my favorite scent EVER!
Second, this is a hard one to answer becauase I wonder what flower people would view me as or how I view myself. I am going to answer on how I view myself.
I pick the Lily! First of all in appearance, it comes in all my favorite colors. It is a flower that is beautiful on its own or also works well in an arrangement. The Lily is a symbol of innocence and purity as well as beauty. These things are the things I strive for everyday except I am reaching for inner beauty. The Lily is often thought of as a very spiritual flower, the flower most often used at Easter. It has a spiritual symbolism of birth, godly mind and humilty. Service that is unoticed. Again, if you knew me well, these are things that I am very passionate about and strive to someday perfect.
I have no idea how other people view me, and frankly I think I might be frightened. I had a guy in the ward call me last night and leave a message for "Queen Suzie." What the? So it makes me wonder if I may be a weed to some? Oh well! It doesn't matter because I know what He thinks of me and wonder what kind of flower I am to Him.
Cute post and thanks for thinking of me and including me also! -Suzanne
Awww, a gerber daisy? You know that they are my absolute favorite!! What an awesome post. Thanks for always being such a good friend in return, that is why everyone loves you so much!
Suzanne-
I like lilies too! They also remind me of Easter, Jesus and purity. I think it would be an accurate fit for you, as well as my dad's wife Tina, and her daughter Carolina. (Probably because they like them so much)!
I have to admit I got the jist of the post and then quickly raced down the options and then squeezed my eyes shut and thought...let me be here, let me be here, and let me be a PEONIE!!!!! Oh Girlie!!! Ya made my day!!!!!!

I really needed that va va voom comment. Thanks Meg. ;)
I have mutiple favorites. Sunflowers were my favorite back in high school. Gerber Daisy because it was the first flower Dan gave me and it was our wedding flower on the tables. Bird of paradise because it makes me laugh. My new current favorite? Lavender roses. Dan gave me some for our anniversary. I love the smell and look.
I'm gonna go eat some holiday oreos and smell some flowers.... ;)Thanks again for giving me a smile when I TRULY needed it. Kisses....
Megan,
I know I don't say it often enough but we are so glad Mike chose you. You are such a delight and a great addition to our family. I couldn't imagine it without you. You are so gracious and accepting. We can hardly wait to be there. Tell Peter to be prepared. You are so clever and talented and I really enjoyed this blog. It was fun to see where you put each of the girls and they all fit perfectly.
Love,
Your favorite MIL
Hi from your potted pal! I loved this post. I'd say your assessment of me is really accurate, though I'd love to be big and bright and friendly like a gerbera daisy or a hibiscus, I can really pull that off around you.
My favorite flowers ever are irises (purple with yellow), but I also love daffodils (such sunny fun in the spring) and jasmine. :0)
