Last week my mom flew me out to San Francisco for my birthday, and I had such a nice trip! It was really great to see all of my family that lives in the bay area, and spend some time downtown doing touristy things. San Francisco is such a beautiful and culturally diverse city, and I love that there is something there for all tastes and interests. My mom really went all-out to make sure I had a good time, and I really appreciate everything she did for me. I love you mom! Here are a few snapshots I took, and as always I apologize for my sub-par photography skills...
(From left to right)
1. San Francisco Ferry Arch with ship.
2. One of the amazing views from my mom's apartment roof. There are lots of ancient Eucalyptus trees nearby.
3. Fisherman's Wharf. I can still smell the salt water and steamed crab.
4. Another view from my mom's roof. Can you see the bay?
5. I love the steep streets and two story Victorians.
6. City skyline from the car window.
7. A shot at the top of the famous Lombard street. The cable car was ringing for us.
8. Pier 39. We had a hearty lunch of crab cakes, clam chowder, and of course sourdough bread.
9. Shopping in Sausalito (just a quick drive over the Golden Gate Bridge).
10. Succulent fruit on Pier 39. You can't get nectarines like that in Utah. Delicious.
11. Sausalito was foggy and cold and beautiful.
12. A view of Alcatraz from the harbor. Maybe next time.

Ah!! SF! Oh how I adore thee! I went to San Fransico right after his mission. We have some great memories from that trip! I am so glad you had a wonderful time and Happy Birthday to you Megan! -Suzanne
The seafood is making me so jealous! I have never been..but hope to see it one day.. The prison kinda interests me...
( that sounds terrrible...:)
I went there once when I was 12. I remember Fisherman's Wharf. I remember we walked half way across the Golden Gate Bridge and decided to turn back.
I am glad you had a wonderful time in San Francisco. Happy Birthday again!
I love watching the street performers! Glad you had a great time!
Seriously Alcatraz was SOO interesting! I love Lombard street too. I need to go back, so jealous!!
I like to go antiquing in Sausilito!
Nate and I used to fly there at least once or twice a year when he worked for Southwest. We'd fly into Oakland and take the BART in and walk all over the place. We always ended up at Pier 39, but one anniversary we walked all the way down the harbor to the Palace of Fine Arts and back. Love clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl (we'll have to get some at Boudin's at California Adventure!).
I think I already told you this on Facebook....but my favorites are Alcatraz and Ghiradelli's. I also love the street performers. And I remember jumping on a trolley tfor a ride that was heading down a long hill. So fun!
I went back in 02? with my friend Rachel. I can't wait to visit again with Dan and the boys.
