Believe it or not, I still think I might have one or two more posts left in me from our vacation extraordinaire. One of the coolest places on our trip was to the enormous Field Museum in Chicago. We could have literally spent an entire day in this vast wilderness of light and knowledge (and if we took kids we could have stretched it to two or three days). Needless to say, by the end of our visit my feet were sore and my brain was full.
Teacher, may I please be excused?
The Field Museum is home to Sue, the worlds largest (and most complete) T-Rex. She was a sight to behold! We toured the exhibit on "Mythic Creatures", featuring dragons, unicorns and mermaids. A section called "Nature Unleashed" where we stood inside a tornado as it passed through Kansas, and an "Underground Adventure", where we were shrunk to half an inch in height. Bugs and worms and ants, oh my! There were exhibits on the Ancient Americas, Pacific Islanders, women from around the world, George Washington Carver (the father of peanuts), and African children to name a few. It was the most fun I've had in a museum in a really long time! If you are ever in the Chicago area, please do yourself a favor and take the family to the Field Museum, I promise you will not be disappointed.

That looks like a really cool place. I want to go to Chicago!!
I love the Field Museum. I am so glad that you were able to go and have such a good time. We did the City pass the last time we were in the neighborhood, and it included the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry (I highly recommend that one too!), the Shedd aquarium, and a few other sites. I love, love, love Chicago!
I love the Field Museum. The only museum that tops it, in the world, is the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. Although, I must admit, the British Museum runs a very close second. I'm so pleased you had such a good time in Chicago. It's my second favourite city (London being my favourite).
Btw, I loved the suggestion about the blackbird trying to tell me about the key to the secret garden :)
Hey Megan,
I have a question for you! When you went to Nauvoo and saw the graves of J Smith, H Smith and Emma, were they owned by the RLDS? I have been reading a book and thought I might ask you since you were just there. Thanks! -Suzanne
I have never wanted to go to Chicago for any reason other than to see Oprah. Now after your trip, you have honestly made me want to go for more! I still think about the pizza you posted!
MMMMMMM.
PLEASE come and be with us on the 4th! PLEASE???
I ask because I am reading this book about what happened to the men that martyred Joseph Smith and it has an entry of the RLDS or decendents of J Smith digging up the bodies and putting them into a new tomb. Just wanted to check with you on that. Thanks! -Suzanne
