Hi. My name is Megan. I'm a Dianaholic.
Yes, that would be Diana, Princess of Wales. The strange thing is that my fascination of the British Royal Family (or should I say my fascination with Lady Diana Spencer) started when I was really young, like 8 or 9. I'm not really sure when she crept into my consciousness; I was just cognizant of the fact that she was always there. I was curious about her family. Her clothes. Her accent. Her strange, glamorous and seemingly perfect lifestyle. I wasn't alone. (She was, after all, the most photographed woman in the world). Go into any shop in England today, and you will still see pictures, engravings, mugs and books of "England's Rose". My obsession may have even originated in the womb.
My mother followed her engagement very closely, and shortly after I was born, she stayed up all hours of the night watching the royal wedding of Charles and Diana broadcast live on TV. When Diana died, my mom and I stayed up all night again, only this time to watch her funeral. Is it healthy to be intrigued by a dead woman? Probably not. But thinking of her, reading about her, seeing pictures of Princess Di makes me strangely happy. Maybe you remember the glowing photograph of me on her memorial walk in London? My visit to Buckingham Palace was one of the best days of my life - hands down. ("Smile for the Queen!") Over the years my friends haven't helped much with my addiction either. They find me books and souvenirs and gossip columns of England's former first lady.
So now I'm curious as to what all of you obsess over? Clothes? Food? Money? Cleaning? Travel? A TV show? A famous personality? I'm intrigued to hear your answers. You know my dirty little secret. Now let me hear yours...

Maybe the reason you are so intrigued with her is because you are somehow connected to her; like maybe you knew her before. That sounds wierd but it just popped into my head as I was reading your post. I guess I will answer your question as a new post on my blog. It has been difficult to think of things to post lately - positive things anyway. :)
I agree with Lindsey. Maybe there was a connection..
Oh Meg. You know we'd all be here for days looking at everything I obsess over. At least you have a few obsessions. I think I may need help!?
Okay Megan....I have THE SAME OBESSION!!!Unbelievable!!!
N
I also obsess over near death experiences, that euphoric feeling that comes when I run, lovely water features, gardening, understanding "relationships",babies, FOOD...
Diana's death brought me to tears (we were in Russia at the time). I couldn't believe I was crying over someone I'd never met and didn't know (other than vicariously through the press).
In case you are interested there's a Franklin Mint doll of Diana in her blue dress in an Antique Mall up in Idaho. (No price tag visible and I didn't ask.)
No obsessions to your extent
Don't worry, Megan. I have an obsession with lamps and lampshades. Princess Di seems normal compared to that. :)
The only weird obsession I can think of for me is I am completely intrigued by dead bloated cows. There are usually one or two down by our cabin and I could stare at them for hours. I don't really collect anything, but the bloated cow thing, I just can't figure out why. I did like cows a lot when I was in the 8th grade. Hence the cow blanket I still sleep with today. I guess my newest obsession is old books. Leave me in the DI and I could go nuts. Ok, now I feel better, I am not that crazy with admitting the bloated cow thing. Please do not nickname me the bloated cow lady! Thanks! -Suzanne
Optics (telescopes, binoculars, eyepieces, etc.), but you already knew that!
Books! But only the books I like. And especially the books I liked as a kid. Happy endings are a must. I prefer them used, because they're broken in and generally less expensive. (Surprising, considering I'm a closet germophobe!)
I'm totally and completely obsessed/intrigued with Britney Spears. If she is on People's magazines cover, I buy it no questions asked.
I am also obsessed with documentaries about people that are morbidly obese and lose the weight or just their day to day life. So weird I know. James makes fun of me all the time about it. Have I told you this before? Okay I am offically a psycho.
